Mega Cold Stores: a mix of futuristic technology and traditional skills
Coremas Polaris Italia, the manufacturing branch of Sogese, has recently delivered two customized portable cold rooms for a company leader in the food industry. Coremas Polaris R&D office reports that most of the success of the solution provided resides in the winning combination between the latest technology available for cold storage applications and innovation pushed on the traditional container industry. Below the main specifications of these movable cold rooms:
- Cold room dimension: 12mt x 2.8mt x 3.4 h ext (98 cubic meters)
- Internal walls in washable Teflon – 1 cm thickness
- Checkered stainless steel floor
- Internal LED lighting system
- Emergency devices and alarms
- Optimizing internal ventilation duct
- Cooling machine performing -18° – CO2 based – the refrigerant with the lowest Global Warming Potential available (GWP=1)
- Automatic internal CO2 control activating two air refresh windows and vents if the rate of CO2 inside the cold room exceeds the setpoint.
